Book cover design:

Basic book cover design (up to 8.5” x 11” cover size): $425*

--- Customer supplies image files, eps bar code files, author biography,

review copy.

--- We provide cover layout, typesetting, basic geometric graphics,

bordering, layering, shading etc.,. Output is a print ready file.

--- Laminated covers are available for promotional purposes.

Full book cover design (up to 8.5 x 11” cover size): *$425 base + Illustration fee

--- Customer supplies concept input, eps bar code files, author biography,

review copy as applicable.

--- Artist Illustration/ cover painting/ detailed graphic design: $150 and up*

--- We provide cover layout, typesetting, basic geometric graphics,

bordering, layering, shading etc.,. Output is a “print ready” file.

--- Laminated covers are available for book promotion purposes.

BOOK interior design:

Overall layout: $375*

--- Customer supplies manuscript files, concept input.

--- We provide manuscript file transfer, over all book interior layout, font

setting, headings, captions, headlines, pagination, chapter formatting,

as applicable etc., (customer approval required to proceed).

Typesetting: $3.50*/ page

--- We provide page by page layout of text and image elements, spell

checking and “light editing” for grammatical errors (customer approval

required to proceed).

Footnotes: $1.50/ footnote

--- We provide a footnote summary at the end of each chapter and

compiled in a footnote appendix, at the end of the book (as applicable,

customer approval required to proceed).

Indexing: $1.50/ footnote

--- We provide indexing for every typeset page, compiled in a index

appendix at the end of the book (as applicable, customer approval

required proceed).

Image prepress (basic): $2.50/ image file

--- Customer supplies image files, concept input as applicable.

--- We provide file conversion, cropping and resizing to typesetting

requirements (as applicable).

Image prepress (advanced): $5.50/ image (includes basic image prepress)

--- We provide image restoration and enhancement. Results dictated by

limitations of the original (as applicable, customer approval required

to proceed).

BOOK ILLUSTRATION:

Original Cartoons, “Clip-Art,” sketches, paintings, etchings: $150 and up*

--- Customer supplies concept input.

--- We provide concept to “print ready” file design. Pricing

varies with customer requirements and the scope of the subject matter.

Technical diagrams, flow charts: $75/ graphic and up*

--- Customer supplies concept input.

--- We provide concept to “print ready” file design. Pricing

varies with customer requirements and the scope of the subject matter.

BOOK WRITING SERVICES:

Technical writing: $28/ hr* (or at a prearranged flat fee)

--- Customer supplies concept input, writing specifications.

--- We provide a technical manuscript with image layout and typesetting

as applicable. Scientific, engineering, business, educational writing

expertise. Scope of applications includes text books, product manuals,

service manuals, manufacturing work instructions, job aids,

troubleshooting manuals etc.,.

Ghost writer services: $33/ hr (or a prearranged flat fee)

--- Customer supplies concept input, writing specifications, notes,

dictation as applicable.

--- We provide a finished manuscript with image layout and typesetting

as applicable.

* BOOK PRINTING SERVICES:

--- Customer supplies “print ready” book cover and manuscript files

(or as supplied through our services above) and print material/ binding

process specifications.

--- We provide book printing on demand (50 minimum - 2,500 maximum).

--- Book covers are also available for book promotions.

--- Send us your requirements to receive a quote. Minimum specifications

needed: book dimensions, binding type, cover (color?, laminated?,

cover stock?), number of pages, paper stock (white? natural?, 20#, 24#),

number of pages with images (color images?), percent of pages to be

printed in halftones (i.e., detailed or progressive shading), file format for

manuscript and graphics layout files, volume of books.

Note: final fixed fee quotes are based on a detailed evaluation of project requirements and as applicable, conceptual sketches, samples of submission materials.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

All files submitted must be compatible with the PC platform (Quark files for Mac OS, ok), image files should be 300 dpi, in either a jpeg (lowest compression) or tiff (uncompressed). CMYK Tiff files are preferred. Jpegs and RGB tiffs are subject to some loss of color fidelity at conversion to a CMYK, 4 color print format.

Pre-Quote guidelines:

Specify your project’s scope, requirements, specifications etc., and indicate where possible, the appropriate or relevant services (above), that you feel you may need or require to complete your project.

2.)

Specify the image file and software file types and platform, used to generate any customer supplied materials, such as the manuscript, cover designs, image files

etc., (e.g., MS Publisher 2000, Microsoft Word, Quark XPress 4.0 - 5.01, etc.,

Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Pagemaker, PC or Mac OS etc.,).

3.)

Following your email request, you will receive a preliminary quote. In order to receive a firm quote, you may be asked to contact us to discuss your project in greater detail, (i.e., for book projects that require design or prepress work), and as applicable, to submit image file samples representative of the quality and scope of images for your project, as well as a file with 1- 3 representative chapters of your manuscript. This step may be necessary to estimate the labor costs and prepress work flows required for your project.
